Surveillance capitalism is often a source of making us feel that we're doomed. Every action we take is tracked. Every post, click, and every destination we visit are being tracked. The government and the corporations are collecting the most information they can to track, exploit and manipulate us. How terrible is this? To influence elections and to sell people things that prey upon their deepest anxieties The data of individuals has been used. It's getting worse. Insurance companies use algorithms to analyze your personal information to determine what amount of insurance they'll provide. They monitor every online activity you engage in, such as your educational level as well as how much you spend on television, what you purchase, your marital status, and many more. The algorithm could identify you as a high-risk person for depression if you recently divorced or purchased large-sized clothing. The price of mental health insurance can be prohibitive. Therefore, they force you to pay more. This is so much enjoyable. So, what can we do? It seems like everywhere we turn and everything we do adds to the database of information on us. Is there anything we can do to stop it? Don't lose hope of your privacy just yet. Even though it may feel like you're losing, you have the ability to be a positive influence. It's not possible to get away from the grid entirely. There are things you could do. Below are three steps that I've taken to assist you.

Step 1 Understand the procedure of the collection of data
It is essential to be aware of the processes involved in the collection of data. It is likely that you know at a high level that anything you share online (private and public) is tracked and stored. This includes your browsing history email, WhatsApp messages, posts on social media, and WhatsApp messages. On a more fundamental level it is important to be aware that everything you do online could result in data about your activities. The companies are becoming more aware of how they gather your data.
Take Google as an example. They always come up with new ways to be accessed. Google Street View cars that drive around the world taking photographs were discovered to be secretly searching WiFi networks to gather personal information from encrypted transmissions. Google Glass wearable technology allows them to gain access to private spaces. Google Home will always listen to what you have to say, as long that the switch is turned switched on. Google's parent company Alphabet Inc. released Pokemon Go in 2016. The game utilized your smartphone's camera and GPS to assist players locate Pokemon and was a great way to gain access to the nooks and crannies of your personal life and private places that were not accessible. Google may also consider Pokemon Go an experiment, to see how people can be digitally controlled into clicking on the right places. These companies are very sneaky. It's crucial to be aware of any information that you may share while using the internet.

Step 2: Find out the process for tracking your data
Your personal data is stored. But what is its purpose?
At any moment at any given time, the five big players (Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon) are monitoring your complete online presence. Your personal data is collected through social and email apps as well as streaming, browsing, and shopping. The Big Five control the majority of the data market and are able to easily establish data connections. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and its own platform are all owned by the same company. Facebook allows you to link your accounts across these platforms to create a single profile that combines the three sources of data. Facebook is a great way to sign in and gain access to your Spotify or Twitter accounts, as well as other accounts. Soon, a large amount of information will be transferred to the data repository. It is imperative to remove all links between the data points in order to stop your data from being transformed into a detailed personal profile. This means you need to separate your use of data so that connections aren't made. It's not an easy task. Some take this issue seriously and are working to erase their digital footprints. This makes it hard for their actions and movements not to be traced. This could include using several online identities, or making use of cash instead of a credit card. There is also the option of using multiple email addresses and telephone numbers for different purposes. It is impossible for most people to accomplish this. If you decide to remove your Facebook and Google profiles would make it almost impossible to function during a time such as this.
What alternatives can you make instead of putting your faith in God?

Step 3. Make a few digital adjustments
"The citizens will split between those who value convenience and those who prefer privacy." -- Niels Ole Finnemann
How much comfort will you give up for privacy? It's likely that not.
I'll assist you with a few easy, yet manageable steps that I have made to protect my privacy. This will enable you to take more control of the information you provide to these companies, and you'll be able to use the internet without being monitored.

DuckDuckGo -- A safer search engine
Your internet searches tell many stories. Your thoughts, thoughts, concerns and private thoughts are revealed through what you search for. Web search is among those search engines that are very private. DuckDuckGo offers similar results as Google's search engines. I like DuckDuckGo because it allows users to conduct searches in private without fear of being tracked. It also includes security on the site and stops tracking.

Brave - A safer web Browser
Google can still track you if utilize the DuckDuckGo Chrome web browser. This is the reason it's essential to choose a browser that has strong encryption and also one that blocks tracking. Tor is the safest browser. It could require some tweaking and setting. I prefer Brave as it's my preferred out of the box browser that is quick and secure. It's also private. It's also available for Android as well as iOS.

Bromite -- the most secure Android Browser
It's one of the top mobile browsers that's available, and it comes with improved privacy and ad blocking. Unfortunately it's only available for Android.

Telegram -Better messaging mobile app
It can be difficult to change your conversations to a mobile app. This involves getting everyone on board. The majority of people still use WhatsApp and don't intend to switch. In terms of security and privacy, Signal is your best choice. But, it's not widely used and the capabilities aren't enough to make users quit their existing apps.
